What our customers say

“I have published and co-edited 12 books in areas of sustainability and firm internationalization and 7 of them have been published with Emerald. My experience with Emerald has been absolutely wonderful. The entire process from the idea, to the feedback on the book proposal, proof reading, and marketing was exceptionally good. Emerald ensures editors and authors have a high commitment with quality, relevance and rigor. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Emerald as a publisher”

São Paulo and beyond

Although our Latin America and the Caribbean office is based in São Paulo, Brazil we also have representatives in Brasilia, Mexico City, La Coruña and Panama City and we cover 45 countries through Latin America and the Caribbean. Our team speak over 6 different languages and have a love for travelling and getting out in the diverse and multicultural region we serve.

We are proud to work with over 400 universities and learning institutions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, allowing us to help disseminate the impact of meaningful research.

Who we are

The team here in Latin America and the Caribbean pride ourselves on the work we do to disseminate the impact of research throughout the countries we serve – we make this our utmost mission. Outside our working hours, we are a team with a variety of hobbies and interests – from reading, writing and playing sports, to surfing, socialising and adventuring in new destinations. We love to share our experiences with one another, this brings us closer together. We strongly believe that it’s important to take time out from work to maintain our personal well-being, in order to remain as productive as possible.

Working from home

Almost half of our team are home-office based in Panamá City, Mexico City and La Coruña and everyone works slightly differently. We are a technically advanced company and use internal communications tools such as Microsoft Teams as well as other methods to ensure we are always in touch no matter where we are based. Our strong team focus means we always collaborate with the rest of the team either in our region or globally and often travel across Latin America and the Caribbean to meet customers and join conferences. Although challenging, as it requires a lot of organization and time management skills, working from home also offers an important work–life balance.

Engaging with the wider community

As a team, we are proud to follow in the footsteps of the wider business to lead the drive towards a more sustainable future. We like to help out as much as possible by committing our time and efforts to support our local communities by utilising the Emerald Volunteering Days. Some of our proudest achievements include creating and distributing essentails packs to the homeless in the streets of São Paulo, to partnering with the NAIA – an NGO that runs an extra curriculum school for underprivaledged students in aid of International Literacy Day. We believe everyone has a role to play towards social responsibility, and we won’t stop here!
